This summer I have been going to the YMCA to workout most everyday. Colton goes to the kid area and plays while I workout. I actually have been working out with one of my students moms from this past year. It has been great to have a buddy to workout with and hold me accountable. Colton absolutely loves her and her boys. We have had some playdates with them this summer and swam at their pool too. Her friend/neighbor works out with us as well.
Her neighbor asked me one day if I knew anyone that wanted a swing set or if we did. I told her we would Love one! We had been looking at getting one for Colton and doing some research. She is putting a pool in their backyard and an addition to their house so they were needing to get the swing set out of the way and her kids are older and don't play with it. She told me it was a Rainbow playground with a rockwall, slide, 2 swings, and a fort on top!! WOW!! I told her I would talk to Cody. I talked to Cody and he was all for it but wanted to make sure it would fit because our backyard isn't the biggest and is an awkward shape becasue we are on a cul-de-sac. She said we could come and look at it and get some measurements and it was Awesome!! It was huge and perfect for Colton! And the best part was they didn't want any money for it!! They just wanted it out of their yard!!! We were in shock!! Rainbow playgrounds are a couple $1000!!!
One weekend we went to their house and we, meaning Cody and her husband helped a little, took down the playground and loaded it up in the truck. It took two truck loads to bring it back to the house. The next day we as a family put it together. Well, once again Cody did most of it and I helped a little and Colton tried to help whenever and wherever he could.
The playground is wonderful and already so many memories have been made playing out there. Since it is the middle of the summer and we are having 100+ degree days it was very hot putting it together and we don't go out until later in the evening because it is just way too hot outside. Fall weather is looking very nice right now!
With the ratchet watching everything Daddy is doing.
Handing Daddy screws.
It was time for us to get out of the way of the playground so Dad could actually get some work done. I picked some weeds by the tomato plants and Colton decided to pick some tomatos! He was so proud of himself!!
Reaching for that red tomato!
Cooling off with a snack and some water.
Just chillin' with his feet on the table.
I really hope that dimple never goes away! Love it!!
Silly face!
Daddy working so hard!
The finished playground!!
