Merry Christmas in August!

Yes, that is right we had our first Christmas in August party!! Jay and Shannon hosted this wonderful party!! We had such a great time, we are making this an annual event, it was that much fun!!! Shannon even made an evite which is hilarious. I posted pictures of the evite! :)

Colton had a great time at his first party, yes it was a party even though it was just the five of us! Enjoy the pictures, I hope this gets everyone in the holiday spirit, it's closer than we all think!! Cody and I have been wanting to put our Christmas tree up already! We have been planning how to set the house up with our Christmas decorations. Where the tree and train should go! And of course Cody has been thinking of how he wants to do the lights outside. He is my Clark Griswold, except he is safe, but more lights the better!

Colton sleeping in Aunt Shannon's arms. We dressed him as festive as we could for a newborn. The stores just don't have any Christmas outfits yet, seriously what are they thinking!?!?
Colton all bundled up because it got chilly in the house. I love those eyes!! He is staring up at his Daddy in this picture!
Happy Family!
Yep!!! That is a fire in the fireplace!!!! It even smelled like Christmas!!!
Homemade sugar cookies!!
What is that on the TV? A Christmas Story!!! The broken leg lamp which sparked a wonderful conversation. Both Cody and Jay want a leg lamp to put in the front window!!
Still sleeping.
We had so much fun icing the cookies!!! Some of us got very creative with decorating! :)

All bundled up by the fire to keep warm and of course still sleeping!

First Sponge Bath

We gave Colton his first sponge bath. This was new to both Cody and I. We don't have many pictures but Colton did pretty well. He was a little upset because he was cold. Cody video taped a little bit. Every bath we hve Colton does better and better. We have learned ways of keeping him warmer so he doesn't get as angry.

So Many Pictures!

We have taken so many pictures of our little blessing already and he is only 20 days old! He is growing up already. We can really see a difference in his face, it is starting to fill out. Cody and I are enjoying every second with him. Colton reacts to our voices and is so alert when we talk to him. It is so amazing to see how he has already changed and grown in this short amount of time. Everyday Cody and I learn more about Colton. We have learned what his different cries mean, his facial expressions, sleeping habits, awake periods, what he likes and dislikes. It is truly a miracle to know that we have learned so many things about him in this short amount of time. Cody has a great way to soothe him with his voice, Colton just beams up at his Daddy and adores him so much already.
That is one Proud Daddy!!! I love seeing the way that the two of them interact with one another, it melts my heart!!!
Story Time!
Nap Time! They hang out like this almost every night while I am getting ready for bed! Priceless!
They sleep the SAME way!! Too cute!

Fightin Texas Aggie Class of 2027! WHOOP!
Colton had a little bit of jaundice so we would put him in his swing and he would sit in front of the storm door to get his Vitamin D.
In his swing, he doesn't look too comfy to me, but he loved to sleep there with the sun warming him up.
I Love how he curls up in a ball and sleeps!!
Little Grin!
Look at his cute lips!

Loves to hold his ears when he sleeps or have his hands behind his head.
Napping in his crib.
