Catching Up!!

Like I said in the last post I am going to be doing some Catching Up on Blogging. Quite a few months went by where I didn't blog anything. Looking back at the pictures I can't believe all the things that happened. I'm so mad at myself for not blogging, but not to worry it is catch up time! Enjoy looking back at what The Crosland's have done the past few months and even more!! :)

Mother's Day

My 2nd Mother's Day! My boys are the Best!! I got some beautiful cards from both boys and a gorgeous peridot drop necklace in yellow gold!! WOW!! I was not expecting that at all! I was wanting a necklace with a charm that said Colton's name but Daddy and Colton went way above that. Thank you boys!!

I am so thankful to be a Mother! God blessed me with the most amazing job ever! I cherish every little thing about being a Mommy. Some days are more difficult than others especially when he is testing me, but I don't let it get to me. I've been reading lots of blogs lately and following some families and their children are very sick with cancer. I thank God everyday for our healthy boy and reading these stories makes me grateful for our lives. When he is pushing our buttons I really am for the most part positive because it could be so much worse. I know I just went off a little but I had to get that out.

Here is an email that I received for Mother's Day and I absolutely love the words they bring such joy to my heart! The words are so true and it brings tears to my eyes every time I read it.

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests, or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

I received a card with beautiful words as well.

To one who bares the sweetest name. And adds the pleasure not the gain. Who shares joy and cheer when sad. The greatest friend children ever had. Long life to her for there is no other can take the place of a dear MOTHER.

Big hugs from my sweet boy!!

I Love my sweet boy so much!! I Love being your Mommy little buddy!!

Cards from both boys and a beautiful bouquet of flowers! Thank you boys for making me feel so special on Mother's Day!

Crawfish Boil

Mother's Day weekend Lanny, Holly, Reese & Riley came up for a visit. We had a great time as always. We didn't do anything big just hung out and let the kids play! We bought some crawfish and had a boil at our house Saturday night. The kids had a great time seeing the mudbugs crawling around. Reese & Riley even picked some up. Colton stayed a few steps back but was still very curious!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

Colton got hand, foot and mouth disease, Again. He got it from someone at school. Once again his case was very, very mild! We seem to luck out! Hand, foot and mouth is a virus where they got blister type sores on their hands, feet and inside of their mouths. He has only ever had spots on his feet and hands.

He had to stay home from school for two days and miss Campbell's 3rd birthday party. We didn't want to expose the other little kids there and we were just trying to have his few sores heal. He stayed home with Daddy because Daddy can work from home much easier than I can. While they were home Colton helped Daddy pay some bills. He saw Cody on the computer and have the checkbook and calculator out.

Fast forward a week laster. Tonight this is what we found him doing...

Writing in the checkbook with the calculator out just like Daddy was doing.

He's got a good memory!! It was so cute seeing him do this and he was so serious!

Babes on the Bay 2011

Babes on the Bay Fishing Tournament in Rockport!!! This was our first time to be in this All Girls tournament!! With so many friends down in Rockport there were many of us at the tournament. This is the largest all girls fishing tournament in the country!!!

Jon Stehling was our boat captain. He did a fabulous job and we had a Blast!!! The fish weren't there because of a huge storm that came by two days before. It didn't matter though, because we all had a great time!

Team All Hooked Up!!

Yummy!!!

I had my boys take a picture with me. Colton seems a little confused why the fish are not swimming!! :)

Mmmmm, Vitamins!!

Colton loves taking his vitamins! Such a good boy!! We have the gummy vitamins so really he just thinks they are a snack. It doesn't matter I'm glad he doesn't fight us to take them. He gets two everyday and we have been working on him counting 1, 2. When you ask him if he wants them he starts jumping up and down and smiling like crazy!! Then we ask him how many he gets he says, "two." He says it so cute!! Keep it up boy!!

Cheeeeseeee!!!

Sweet boy ready for his vitamins.

one, two!!!!

YAY!!! I have my vitamins!!

Look Mom, two vitamins!!

Yummy!!

Growing into his bike... slowly...

Riley gave Colton his old bike. He Loves his new bike but unfortunately his little legs just aren't long enough. He can scoot around a bit but struggles. Soon enough he will grown and the bike will fit him perfectly! Thanks Riley for the bike!!

Scootin around the cul-de-sac. Have I mentioned I absolutely Love that we live on a cul-de-sac. There are only 3 houses that have a driveway and 5 total houses. No traffic and the kids go round and round the cul-de-sac. It is a great "playground" for all the neighborhood kiddos!!

Trying to get off, if his legs were just a bit longer.

Too hard to ride, so I'm going to push it around!

Look at me Mom, I'm a problem solver!! :)

He has a place in mind and determined to get there!

Easter 2011

Colton's Easter Party at His School

On Thursday Colton had his Easter party and egg hunt at school. Cody and I both went this time. Colton is beginning a stage right now where he wants to be with us and when he is around people he doesn't know he gets very clingy. In short, he had a difficult time with both of us in his classroom at the wrong time of the day. He was better when we were hunting eggs outside. When we were inside where we usually would get his things and go he was not the best. Hopefully this stage of fussiness doesn't last too long.

Running because he spotted an egg!! The night before we practiced hiding and finding eggs in the living room. He thought it was so much fun and couldn't do it enough!

He truly is such a happy boy, even though he has his moments. His happy times out weigh his fussy times!

Easter in Rockport

Our new family tradition is to be in Rockport for Easter. This is our 2nd year to do this and we have so much fun. There are so many friends and family that came and we all celebrate together. We all get in town Thursday night and then Friday the Mommies and the kids spend the day at the beach while the Daddies go fishing. Saturday is our big Easter celebration and egg hunt. Lanny and Holly host this event and we are so thankful that they do. It was very big this year, 65 people came! It's so neat that all of us travel to Rockport to spend Easter together! It was a wonderful time with friends and extended family. Looking forward to many more Easter's in Rockport!
