While Reese was here one day during nap Colton decided to climb out of his crib! This was the very first time he did this and it was about 3 weeks before his 2nd birthday! I freaked out and we put him back in his crib, well about 5 seconds later he was at his door. I was shocked!!! That evening the side of the crib came off. It was a sad moment because I realized he was growing up way too fast and my baby boy was not so much a baby anymore. We realized we had to change the crib because of a safety issue. I saw him climb out and it freaked me out when he did it.
Reese and Colton had a great time helping Daddy, Uncle Cody, set up his new big boy toddler bed. Reese and I had a great time setting up his bed and making it look good for our big boy. He loved his bed but it did not go well at all when it was bedtime. :( It was something very new for him and he was able to get out of his bed all by himself. I sat with him and rubbed his back to make him feel comfortable and go to sleep. It has been a very very slow transition having him sleep in his bed. I wish I could say that it is a smooth transition but it is not at all. Every night I will either lay with him or sit by the side and rub his back till he falls asleep. Most every night he will wake up in the middle of the night and come to our room. No I am not a fan of this but it wont last forever, I hope. I think what happens is that he wakes up in the middle of the night and his bed is open and he can get out and he doesn't know how to put himself back to sleep.
I do love how his bed turned out with the trains. He loves trains!! He looks like such a big boy sitting in his bed. He loves it during the day, but once you say night night we struggle.
